This is the first book in the Lux series. Katy moves to West Virginia right before her senior year, she’s pretty much resigned herself to thick accents, dodgy internet access and a whole lot of boring... that is until she meets her neighbours. Dee is a cute, sweet and friendly girl and she immediately becomes friends with Katy. But we can’t say the same for her arrogant, hot brother, Daemon. At first he seems to hate Katy but when a stranger attacks her and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something…unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks her. Yep, alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies waiting to steal their abilities. The only way Katy is getting out of it alive is by sticking close to Daemon until her alien mojo fades. If she doesn’t kill him first, that is.

My thoughts:

I was immediately hooked on the story and I just had to read it. It was AMAZING! I'm serious there’s nothing better than a hot arrogant alien saving a girl’s life:]

Katy is your average, just moved to a new town, don’t know anyone kind of girl. She’s sweet and kind but won’t take “crap” from anyone.

Dee is a lovely, kind, super adorable, just wants a friend kind of girl. And I have to tell you, I loved her in a minute. She’s really sweet.

Now for Daemon. Uff Daemon. Just… dear God! He’s the kind of guy that drives you crazy and makes you hot at the same time! He also saves Katy's life so more points for him. Haha

“My palms itched to have a close encounter of the bitch-slap kind with his face.”

“Why are you such an ass?" The words came out before I could think twice.
"Everyone has to excel at something, right?"
"Well, you're doing a great job.” 

“Remind me," he paused, drawing in a stuttered gasp, "to never piss you off again. Christ, are you secretly a ninja?” 

“Will you show me what you really look like? You don't sparkle, do you?” 

“I don't think he meant to kiss me," I said finally.
"What? Did he slip and fall on your mouth? Those things are known to happen.” 

“Holy Hawt Chemistry, Batman!”

“So the dickhead had a name. Daemon—seemed fitting. And of course his sister would be as attractive as him. Why not? Welcome to West
Virginia, the land of lost models.” 

“Oh, yeah.” Carissa nodded. “They were googley-eyed in class on Friday. It was pretty steamy, the whole ‘I’m
screwing you with my eyes’ thing they had going on.” I choked on my drink. “That was not what we were doing. We were talking!”

Anyway the story is funny, romantic, and full of action… It’s just everything you’d want in a book! It’s perfect and I’d recommend it to EVERYONE!
