Wishing For Someday Soon

About:
We follow the story of seventeen year old Katelyn Richards. She lives with her abusive mother, a string of stepfathers and her nine year old brother Kevin. She wants to give her little brother the life they both wish for; a life with no more abuse, no worries about where their next meal will come from and no more wondering if they will have a roof over their heads.
When her mother moves them again, this time to a small town in Montana, Katelyn's resolve is shaken when she meets Max, a cute boy from her new school, who gets a glimpse into her real world. Max manages to slowly break through Katelyn's wall, stirring up feelings she never saw coming.
Katelyn struggles with the decision to follow her heart into the arms of the first boy she has ever loved. A decision that could risk the promise she made to protect Kevin, and to give them the 'someday soon' that is so close within their grasp.

My thoughts:
First I would just like to point out that I do not like reading contemporary books because it’s too real and too emotional. I read to escape from this cold world, so paranormal is my normal. But to my surprise I actually enjoyed this book very much!
The story is original and it flows through the whole book nicely. The characters are lovable, except for the mother and the stepfathers of course.
Katelyn is a strong, young girl and she would give everything to protect her brother and that’s what makes her the perfect character.
Max is just sweet and kind. He helps Katelyn through hard times and loves her.
Kevin is an ordinary little boy; he loves games and his sister of course.
Their mother is abusive and mean. So there are no nice words about her from me.
The book will make you sad with all the sad moments, but also happy with the good moments.

Overall the book is a wonderful read and I would recommend it to anyone who isn't afraid to go on an emotional roller-coaster ride:]
